Innovation at heart
BIOFIBIX fiber treatment enhances the natural performance of flax to a level that was not achievable before. It greatly improves mechanical properties, wetting and moisture resistance. Combined with our production assets and efficient process, we can provide you with a flax reinforcement that approaches the best in the market, at only a fraction of the cost.
The technology was developed at the Department of Materials Engineering of KU Leuven to meet cost and performance needs in high volume markets.

Technical excellence
BIOFIBIX engineers would be happy to support your implementation and growth of flax composites. Most of the time, a few trials runs are sufficient to incorporate flax reinforcements in an existing process. Promoting sustainability
BIOFIBIX uses Belgian grown flax fibers which are European Flax Certified. Flax is a fast-growing crop that stores CO2 during growth and can be harvested every year. The feedstock is efficiently transformed from field to final product within a 150-kilometer radius to maximally preserve the low environmental footprint of the material.
